Thumbs up A Prequel Series Set Before Kirk.

A prequel series set before kirk.
Enterprise is excellent though many people have criticised it and saidits not a patch on the others well its not supposed to be its beforethe others so the characters won't be as sure of themselves there willissues that we are facing now its only set 100 years from now I lovethe uniforms very NASA I think that was the point.... POSSIBLE SPOLERS........ I love the romance between Sub commander Tpol and CommanderTrip Tucker (2 of my favourite characters their great together)I havewatched this from 2001 and as I am in Britain we've only just hadseason 4 shown on Sky One The Augment episodes are amazing and it wasnice to see a link between Arik Soong and his descendant Noonian Soongwho is the creator of Data(I think thats how you spell their names)thespecial effects are getting better and so are the stories I cantbelieve its getting cancelled (hmm reminds you of TOS axed after 3years I think) this series should be kept going. I cant wait to see howthe federation develops and how the uniforms change some of myfavourite episodes are Broken Bow,Carbon Creek ,The seventh ,Shockwave1 and 2 ,c12 ,The Augments The one where Tpol invites trip toVulcan(cant remember title) a great series worth watching on TV.
How can you say DS9 is Star Trek and Enterprise is not?!
First off, I consider my self a fan of anything Sci-Fi, for example,Star Trek TOS, Star Trek TNG, Babylon 5, and SG-1, just to name a few.I would also like to say that I do like DS9. I liked it so much that Ihave every episode on my computer and this took a while on DSL. Thus, you can tell that I like it.

After reading several bad reviews for Enterprise on IMDb I noticed thatmany people said that they liked DS9 but hated Enterprise. What wastheir main reasoning? Mostly, they claim that Enterprise is not StarTrek. Well I would like to disagree. First of all, the very basis forDS9 was that the show revolved around a space station in deep spaceorbiting a planet populated with a very religious people that believedworm-hole aliens where their gods. The station did not move, the peopleaboard the station did not explore, and towards the end of the seriesit was mainly just space battles. The only way you could tell that DS9was Star Trek was due to the fact that they wore the same uniforms andhad the same ships. Most of the time, all the non-space battle episodewere resolved at the end with some insane amount of trek-no-babbleThere was just no sense of exploration.

With Enterprise this is not the case. Enterprise returns to the classicform of Trek. You take a ship and its crew and go into space toexplore. This is what the show did, and it was done extremely well. Notonly do you get the sense of exploration and adventure as the firstwarp 5 ship heads into deep space but you truly get the feeling of what"where no man has gone before" means. As Star Trek Enterprise dvd set was a prequel, noone from earth would have been able to venture that far, so we get toexperience humanity's reactions to the unknown and long term and longdistance space travel. During their trek through the stars, we get tosee the humans meet all the races we came to know and love from TOS andTNG for the first time. Even better, is that there is no Federation, the Enterprise is truly alone and in most cases out classed. Just likein the wild, not all prey is eaten up by the predator. You got to haveyour whit's about you and faith (yeah…yeah…faith of the heart) that youcan go out into that big world and make it. If I made the decision,Enterprise would make it! Too bad, that the Trek-no-Babbling Idiotscan't get past the intro song, which by the way, works very well withthe scenes of humanity's scientific progress.

I would also like to address some of the other reasons why many peopledon't like Enterprise. One reason that I have read was that the shipand technology look too advanced. Well, I would like to ask if theytruly realized exactly what they are saying. Would you really want tosee a plastic model floating through space and do you really think thatin our future we are going to use computers that are nothing but abunch of blinking lights and analog displays. No. I did no think soeither. Our special effects have come a long way since the 60's. I amglad to see them being used well. Another dislike that I have read wasthat T'Pol has too much sex appeal. Well, I have to agree, she doeshave a lot of appeal, but that is not the reason why I watch, andbesides TOS is notorious for scantily clad females always falling forKirk. TNG and DS9 are not exempt either how about Troy or Dax. Don'tget me started on 7 of 9. The last dislike that I have seen was thatpeople believe that Enterprise is rewriting Star Trek history. I amsort of puzzled by this one. What history is there to rewrite? All ofthe star trek series are supposed to be an optimistic view of apossible future several years in advanced of our own. It has nothappened yet, it is fiction. So, where is the problem? It may not havebeen exactly what you have been envisioning but it is probably prettyclose. Sheesh, give them a break and live long and prosper.
